One of my favorite things about building my family tree on Mundia is how excited my relatives get when I tell them I am researching our family history. Just by casually mentioning my family tree project at family gatherings or on my Facebook profile I’ve had countless offers to help – and I’ve accepted every one of them!
I’ve discovered that most of the information I need to really get started is available simply from talking to aunts, uncles and cousins. So when I invite them to join me on Mundia and they share the information they have or remember, our tree grows much quicker.
If you haven’t yet started making your family tree, what are you waiting for? Invite your family to join in the fun by sending an email invitation directly from your tree, or from Mundia’s Facebook app. That way they can access your tree, add additional information they have and they can also verify important dates you’ve entered like the birthdays and anniversaries of other relatives.
Not only will you grow your family tree in double time, but with your family calendar up to date, you’ll never forget your grandma’s birthday again!

We are happy to announce that Mundia is already used by visitors from more than 150 countries. We even have visitors from the Bahamas, Saint Lucia and Nepal. This just shows how popular family tree building and family history is across the globe. I personally am very curious to get in touch with more of my relatives from around the world through the Mundia family tree network. I still haven’t booked my summer vacation yet

Part of my job is recruiting a team of SuperUsers who are volunteers to work with me in the growing Mundia.com community. The good news is, if you’re reading this blog and enjoy using Mundia.com then you are just the person I’m looking for!
If you’re interested in volunteering a few hours a week and speak English fluently then I hope you’ll consider volunteering to help make Mundia an even better site and help us grow.
Please email me at email@example.com for more details and to get the process started. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sharing photos with your family is simple on Mundia. Go to your Homepage tab, and click on the Add Photo link.
You can then browse for the photo file and hit the upload button. You can then edit the title, location, date and description. You can also delete, share and print your photos. Your family members can leave comments on your photos as well. All your photos are viewable on your Gallery tab.

Recently we have received several messages, both through comments made here to the blog, and through messages sent through the Contact Us link regarding privacy concerns. We realize that privacy and protecting your privacy are concerns that go hand in hand with family history research, and your privacy is very important to us.
In a nutshell, information posted by Mundia members is shared with Ancestry.com members according to the privacy rules of Mundia, and information posted by Ancestry.com members is shared with Mundia.com members according to the privacy rules of Ancestry.com. For example, if you had a family tree that you posted on Ancestry.com as a “private” family tree, Mundia would respect the privacy settings and not allow others to view your family tree without your permission. It is entirely within each member’s control how much information is shared. You can modify your Mundia profile settings any time by visiting your “My Account” page. By making your profile information “not searchable”, you reduce the number of member connections the system will be able to make for you and it means you’ll have to input more of your own information. Also, keep in mind that even if your profile is set to “not searchable”, it will still be viewable by members of your “family circle”. Lastly, information in any profile in your family tree may be publicly searchable and viewable if our algorithms categorize the individual as deceased (for example, if information in your tree indicates that the individual is older than 100, the individual may be defined as deceased).

We’re working hard to make Mundia a wonderful place to collaborate with your family members on your family tree or share photos, stories and family news. That’s why we’ve made it even easier to invite family members to your tree via Facebook. Simply click on the “Add family from Facebook” link at the top of your family tree, and you can easily add relatives from your list of Facebook friends.
Add family to your family tree from Facebook
Once you’ve identified your relatives from your list of friends on Facebook, you can drag and drop them onto their nearest direct relative in the family tree to copy their information into Mundia. After you’ve placed them in the tree, you’ll be able to see their Facebook updates on Your Home Page, share photos and stories with them, as well as collaborate as you add new ancestors and relatives to your family tree together.
We hope that you take advantage of this new feature to start inviting your relatives from Facebook today.
